Splices Live
Rights-aware sub-product carve-outs
A splice is a derivable, rights-aware sub-product carved out of one or more parent listings under the parent’s output-rights snapshot.
Three live splice kinds today
- ROW_SPLICE — a row-level carve-out from a dataset listing.
- JURISDICTION_SPLICE — a geo-scoped carve-out under jurisdiction allow / deny terms.
- ANSWER_CONTEXT_SPLICE — an answer-context derived sub-product paired with a query license.
Eight reserved splice kinds
FIELD_SPLICE, SECTION_SPLICE, PROVIDER_CURATED_SPLICE, CROSS_PACKET_SPLICE, VISUAL_SPLICE, TIME_WINDOW_SPLICE, WORKFLOW_SPLICE, EPHEMERAL_AGENT_SPLICE. Each opens with its own slice and a locked decision. Today the application rejects reserved kinds with a clear denial reason.
How a splice is verified
Every splice carries its own sha256 hash. Deliveries of a splice cite that hash so the buyer can verify the exact bytes received. A receipt of kind splice records the splice id, kind, parent listing, and hash.
